I have a feeling this Reindeer Bark is going to become a firm favourite in our home. It is wonderfully simple and festive, and takes less than 10 minutes to make. It’s also something fun to do with the kids and makes a great homemade gift.

You will need:

Roughly 300g good quality eating chocolate, melted

Pretzels, cut in half (I like using those coated with sesame seeds)

Candy eyes (I bought mine from Bakers Bin)

Red candy for Rudolph’s nose (I used smarties, but you could also use M&M’s or Astros)

Festive Sprinkles (also from Bakers Bin)

This is how:

Line a baking tray with a silicon baking mat or baking paper. Spread the melted chocolate over the mat/paper with a spatula.

Place the eyes, pretzels and candy gently onto the chocolate to make a reindeer. Add festive sprinkles and place in the freezer. (I tried doing this in the refrigerator and it didn’t work very well, especially in our warm South African weather)

Once frozen, use a knife to cut into rough pieces.

Enjoy!

My White Chocolate Rocky Road also makes a great gift. Get the recipe here.
